To provide a power generation brake controller capable of reducing generation of a harmonic content without changing a cycle of a carrier signal.SOLUTION: There is provided a power generation brake controller 21 for generating a gate signal Gch for controlling a conduction state of a power generation brake chopper 2 which is connected to a power generation brake resistor 3 in series for forming a power generation brake unit 7, and receiving information of a voltage Vc of a filter capacitor 4 provided in parallel to the power generation brake unit. The power generation brake controller comprises: a conduction ratio calculation tool for calculating a conduction ratio based on the voltage of the filter capacitor; a carrier signal generation tool for generating a carrier signal; an increase/decrease value generation tool for generating an increase/decrease value updated at a timing based on a cycle of the carrier signal; and a comparison tool. The comparison tool compares the conduction ratio with a signal which is adjusted so that a maximum value and minimum value do not exceed a prescribed range, by adding the increase/decrease value to the carrier signal, for generating the gate signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
