To provide a confluence support device and a confluence support method capable of satisfactorily supporting a lane change of a vehicle traveling on a road.SOLUTION: A confluence support device is comprised of: an acquisition unit for acquiring a position and a speed of a confluent destination vehicle which is a vehicle heading to a confluence point on a confluent destination lane; and a calculation unit for calculating at least one of a target speed, a target position, and a target timing when a confluent source vehicle, which is such a vehicle in a lane of the confluent source, changes a lane, based on the position and the speed acquired by the acquisition unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
