To control the depth of floating while suppressing power consumption.SOLUTION: An underwater float-type device 1 floating in water flow has: a ballast tank 20 for adjusting the weight of the underwater float-type device 1; a pouring/discharging unit 21 that changes a water amount in the ballast tank 20; a flow velocity sensor 13 that serves as a flow velocity measuring unit for measuring the flow velocity of water flow; and a control unit 15 that holds water amount setting information for setting correspondence for a water amount setting value in the ballast tank for enabling the own device to float to a desired depth for each range of prescribe flow velocities, and controls the water amount in the ballast tank 20 by the pouring/discharging unit 21 on the basis of the flow velocity measured by the flow velocity sensor 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
