To provide a tire abrasion prediction method capable of suppressing increase in labor.SOLUTION: An abrasion prediction method comprises: a procedure of forming an approximate model containing a grounding area regulated by a predetermined shape designated on a ground face of a tire; a procedure of setting a first approximate function on shear stress of a slip area; a procedure of setting a second approximate function on a slip amount of the slip area; a procedure of determining average shear stress of the slip area on the basis of the first approximate function; a procedure of determining a slip amount of the slip area on the basis of the second approximate function; a procedure of determining friction energy on the ground face on the basis of the average shear stress and the slip amount; a procedure of setting a load correction function indicating relationship between a load acting on the tire and the friction energy; a procedure of determining load correction friction energy by correcting the friction energy determined on the basis of the load acting on the tire during running and the load correction function; and a procedure of predicting wear of the tire on the basis of the load correction friction energy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
