To provide an assembling method of a shaft member unit which can efficiently assemble the shaft member unit.SOLUTION: In a pressure-insertion process, an internal peripheral tapered part 74 of a pressing head 70 which is driven to a center axial line direction X1 of a shaft member 1 is externally fit and pressure-inserted into the shaft member up to a position at which an inner ring 21 is positioned via a ring 3 without plastically deforming the ring 3 to a diameter-contracted side. In a caulking process, when the internal peripheral tapered part 74 of the pressing head 70 presses the ring 3 to the inner ring 21 side, the internal peripheral tapered part imparts a diameter contraction force not smaller than a plastic deformation load to the ring 3, plastically deforms a part of the ring 3 to the diameter-contracted side, and caulks it to an external peripheral groove 16 of the shaft member 1. The pressure-insertion process and the caulking process are performed by a change of a drive force of a drive part (lift drive part) which drives the pressing head 70.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
