PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch type operation device, an operation method thereof, and an operation program capable of preventing unintended processing by a pinch-in operation on a spherical operation area of a touch sensor and improving usability.SOLUTION: A touch pad 13 has a flat part 40 and a hemispherical convex three-dimensional part 41. The three-dimensional part 41 has an outer peripheral surface that constitutes a spherical operation area. When the movement locus of at least two fingers F in the spherical operation area is an arcuate movement locus bulging outward when the spherical operation area is viewed in a plan view, a second recognition unit 76 of a touch pad control unit 61 recognizes the gesture operation of at least two fingers F as the same gesture operation as a pinch-in operation in a planar operation area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
