PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gaze region estimating apparatus capable of improving estimation accuracy of a position of a gaze region of a driver.SOLUTION: When a line of sight of a driver faces a front of a vehicle, a driving load estimation ECU 100 estimates a specific area as a gaze region under such a condition that a staying time of the line of sight of the driver in the specific area located in front of the vehicle is equal to or longer than a predetermined time. When the line of sight of the driver is oriented toward a rear side of the vehicle which is on the side of the vehicle or behind the vehicle, the driving load estimation ECU 100 estimates a specific region as a gaze region under such a condition that a frequency of the driver's line of sight turning towards a specific region located on the rear side of the vehicle is equal to or more than a predetermined number of times.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】運転者の注視領域の位置の推定精度を向上可能にした注視領域推定装置を提供する。【解決手段】運転負荷推定ECU100は、運転者の視線が車両前方に向いているときには、車両前方に位置する特定の領域での運転者の視線の滞留時間が所定時間以上であることを条件に特定の領域を注視領域として推定する。また、運転負荷推定ECU100は、運転者の視線が車両側方又は車両後方である車両後側方に向いているときには、車両後側方に位置する特定の領域に運転者の視線が向く頻度が所定回数以上であることを条件に特定の領域を注視領域として推定する。【選択図】図1
