PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the on/off timing of a brake lamp appropriately in response to various deceleration scenes in applying to an automatic operation system.SOLUTION: A control method for a vehicular brake lamp, for use in controlling on/off timing of a brake lamp 9 of a vehicle itself in accordance with deceleration degree of the vehicle itself, the vehicle capable of automatically controlling a travel speed thereof, the method includes: generating a target speed profile Vof the vehicle itself for the present to a given period of time in future; detecting a present travel state of the vehicle itself; determining whether it is a deceleration scene in association with lighting the brake lamp 9, on the basis of the target speed profile Vand the travel state; and controlling on/off timing of the brake lamp 9 in accordance with the determination result of the deceleration scene.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】自動運転システムへの適用に際し、ブレーキランプの点灯/消灯タイミングを様々な減速シーンに対応して適切に制御すること。【解決手段】自車走行速度の自動制御が可能であり、自車の減速度に応じて自車のブレーキランプ9の点灯/消灯タイミングを制御する。この車両用ブレーキランプの制御方法において、自車の現在から所定時間将来までの目標速度プロファイルV*を生成する。自車の現在の走行状態を検出する。目標速度プロファイルV*と走行状態に基づいて、ブレーキランプ9の点灯を伴う減速シーンか否かを判断し、減速シーンの判断結果によりブレーキランプ9の点灯/消灯タイミングを制御する。【選択図】図3
