PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling apparatus for an electric vehicle, which pertinently adjusts a threshold for detecting idle/run while using an expected speed value of an electric machine so as to prevent error detection in idle/run.SOLUTION: There is provided a controlling apparatus of an electric vehicle for driving electric machines 4a to 4d for driving wheels by an electric power conversion apparatus 3, which comprises speed expectation means 10 for expecting speed of the electric machines 4a to 4d, criterion speed calculation means 7 for calculating the highest value or the lowest value among the expected speed values of the electric machines 4a to 4d by the speed expectation means 10 as a criterion speed n, idle/run detecting means 8 for detecting idle or run of the wheels when the difference between the expected speed values of the electric machines 4a to 4d and the criterion speed nexceeds a speed difference threshold, and speed difference threshold calculation means 11 for calculating a speed difference threshold so that it is increased according to the criterion speed nwithin a range of a predetermined base speed or more of the electric machines 4a to 4d.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
