PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proximity sensor excellent in mass-productiveness, and capable of circumventing detection malfunction due to floating objects in the air, such as raindrop, fog, or the like.SOLUTION: A proximity sensor 1 includes a cable 2 for sensor having first and second electrode wires 21, 22 provided in parallel, an insulator 23 covering the first and second electrode wires 21, 22 collectively, and a coating 24 covering the insulator 23, and a shield 3 having an opening 31, and covering the cable 2 for sensor partially. The cable 2 for sensor is fixed to the shield 3 so that the first and second electrode wires 21, 22 have a range difference for the opening 31, and detects contact of a detection body 4 by the difference of a first capacity C1 detected by the first electrode wire 21 and a second capacity C2 detected by the second electrode wire 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】量産性に優れ、且つ雨滴や霧などの空中浮遊物による検出誤動作を回避可能な近接センサを提供する。【解決手段】近接センサ1は、平行に設けられた第1及び第2電極線21、22と、第1及び第2電極線21、22を一括して覆う絶縁体23と、絶縁体23を覆う被覆24とを有するセンサ用ケーブル2と、開口部31を有し、センサ用ケーブル2の周囲を部分的に覆うシールド3と、を備え、センサ用ケーブル2は、第1及び第2電極線21、22が開口部31に対して距離差を有するようにシールド3に固定され、第1電極線21により検出される第1の静電容量C1と第2電極線22により検出される第2の静電容量C2との差分により被検知体4の近接を検知するものである。【選択図】図1
