PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative pressure type booster capable of making weight lighter and making cost lower while securing strength of a diaphragm.SOLUTION: A negative pressure type booster 100 comprises a movable barrier 120 which hermetically partitions the interior of a booster shell 110 into a constant pressure chamber R1 and a variable pressure chamber R2. The movable barrier 120 is composed of an annular plate member 121 and an annular diaphragm 122 capable of being elastically deformable. The diaphragm 122 includes a connection part C which hermetically connects an outer peripheral bead part 122a with a seat part 122f supported on the plate member 121 and then elastically deforms on the side of the constant pressure chamber R1 in such a state that pressure difference generates between the constant pressure chamber R1 and the variable pressure chamber R2, and a bent part 122e. In addition, the diaphragm 122 comprises a first rib 123 as a first protrusive part and a second rib 124 as a second protrusive part which are protrusively provided along the circumferential direction of the diaphragm 122 on a part of the connection part C and have wall thickness in comparison with another part of the connection part C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
