PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire testing apparatus capable of easily and accurately evaluating riding comfort of tires with lugs.SOLUTION: A testing apparatus 2 comprises: a running plate 6 for a tire 4 to run on; a mount unit 20 which allows the tire 4 to be rotatably mounted thereon and is slidable in vertical directions; a weight loader 26 for applying a desired vertical weight load on the tire 4; and a sensor 28 capable of detecting vertical displacement or acceleration of the tire 4. The apparatus 2 preferably includes a load cell 12 for measuring lateral force applied to the running plate 6 by the tire 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
