PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch for a railway vehicle, the switch enabling the height and width thereof to be reduced.SOLUTION: First and second cable heads respectively connected to different circuits are connected to a switch unit 70 for a railway vehicle. The switch unit comprises: a switch in which a fixed electrode 3 and a movable electrode 5 are provided in a freely connectable and separable condition; a first bushing conductor 124 which is electrically connected to the fixed electrode and to which a first cable head is connected; second bushing conductors 12B and 12C which are electrically connected to the movable electrode and to which a second cable head is connected; a movable conductor connected to the movable electrode; an air-insulated operation rod 20 arranged coaxially with the movable conductor; an adapter 24 coaxially connecting the movable conductor and the air-insulated operation rod; an operation unit 30 arranged substantially linearly with the switch and the air-insulated operation rod; a first journaling part journaling the movable conductor; and a second journaling part journaling the adapter.
