PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power control method and a power control device of a hybrid vehicle which can effectively absorb torque variation of an engine while suppressing the deterioration of an energy efficiency.SOLUTION: A power control device of a hybrid vehicle estimates an average torque output from an engine, estimates a torque variation component of the torque output from the engine, sets a counter torque suppressing the estimated torque variation component, and has a PCM which controls an electric motor so that the electric motor outputs the set counter torque. The PCM sets the counter torque so that when a revolution speed of the engine is constant, the absolute value of the counter torque becomes smaller as the average torque output from the engine becomes larger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
