PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve efficient regenerative drive of a rail type travel vehicle with an inexpensive structure.SOLUTION: A rail type travel vehicle 100 for a slope comprises: a motor part 20 for driving a pinion 12 engaged to a rail 2 installed on a ground; a power supply part 9 comprising plural lithium ion secondary battery cells having a lithium titanium composite oxide material as a negative electrode material for storing power for driving the motor part 20; and a control part for, making a mode of the power supply part 9 a discharge mode in an up-hill grade, making a mode of the motor part 20 an electric motor mode, discharging power stored in the power supply part 9 for driving the motor part 20, and making a mode of the power supply part 9 a discharge mode and making a mode of the motor part 20 a power generator mode in a down grade in a state of securing a vacant capacity in the power supply part 9, rotating the motor part 20 at constant velocity, and storing the generated regenerative power in the power supply part 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
