PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector excellent in connection workability and a branch structure of a wire harness.SOLUTION: An optical connector comprises: an optical plug 51; an optical receptacle 52 in which the optical plug 51 is approached from a direction orthogonal to an axis of an optical fiber 22 and joined; and alignment means that causes the optical fiber 22 of the optical plug 51 and an optical fiber 65 of the optical receptacle 52 to be aligned with each other by joining the optical plug 51 to the optical receptacle 52. The optical receptacle 52 is provided with a fitting concave part 60 to which the optical plug 51 is fitted; the alignment means consists of both-side walls 61 of the fitting concave part 60 that gradually approach toward a fitting direction of the optical plug 51 to the fitting concave part 60, and both-side walls 71 of the optical plug 51 that are inclined at the same inclination angle as that of the both-side walls 61 of the fitting concave part 60; the optical plug 51 is fitted to the fitting concave part 60 of the optical receptacle 52 and the both-side walls 61 and both-side walls 71 are brought into contact with each other, and thereby the optical fibers 22 and 65 are aligned with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
