PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize the construction of a rolling bearing unit to prevent a deterioration in the lifetime of a bearing while securing the strength of a flange piece.SOLUTION: In the axial outside face of a root part of each of a plurality of flange pieces 8a constituting a stationary-side flange 6a, a recessed part 20 recessed axially inward is provided over the whole circumferential width of the flange piece 8a. A constriction part 21 is thereby provided at the radial inner end of the flange piece 8a at its portion adjacent to the axial inside of the recessed part 20. Then, the constriction part 21 is located in an area spaced axially inward from an outer ring raceway 7d without radially overlapping with the outer ring raceway 7d in an inside row.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】フランジ片の強度を確保できると共に、軸受寿命が低下するのを防止できる、転がり軸受ユニットの構造を実現する。【解決手段】静止側フランジ6aを構成する複数のフランジ片8aの根元部の軸方向外側面に、軸方向内方に凹んだ凹部20を、フランジ片8aの円周方向全幅に亙り設ける。これにより、フランジ片8aの径方向内端部のうちで、凹部20の軸方向内側に隣接する部分に括れ部21を設ける。そして、括れ部21を、内側列の外輪軌道7dと径方向に重畳させずに、外輪軌道7dから軸方向内方に外れた部分に位置させる。【選択図】図1
