PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of abnormal conditions performed by a detection device that detects abnormal conditions of elevators based on vibration of elevators over elevators of various specifications.SOLUTION: A threshold value determination method is used in a detection device 12 for detecting abnormal conditions of elevators based on vibration of an elevator 1A and determines a threshold value of the vibration for detecting the abnormal conditions. This method includes a step S11 for measuring the vibration according to the abnormal conditions in an elevator 1B of a reference specification. This method includes a step S12 for calculating an acting force applied to the elevator of the reference specification based on a measured value of the vibration. This method includes a step S14 for performing simulation of the vibration of an elevator of a setting target specification based on the calculated acting force.
