PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for preventing a UAV from flying into and within a restricted airspace without authorization.SOLUTION: A flight range restricting system 100 is configured to control a flight range of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) 102. The flight range restricting system 100 includes a database 108 comprising: a UAV capability storage area 110 that stores UAV capability data indicative of technical specifications of the UAV 102; and a restricted airspace storage area 112 that stores restricted airspace data indicative of a restricted airspace. A range restricting control unit 106 is communicatively coupled to the database 108. The range restricting control unit 106 controls the flight range of the UAV 102 on the basis of a current location of the UAV 102, the UAV capability data, and the restricted airspace data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
