PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a thickness of a white layer of a bainite rail easily and accurately in a short time.SOLUTION: A bainite rail white layer thickness estimation method comprises: acquiring an actual value of hardness of a head top face of a laid bainite rail; and estimating a thickness of a white layer of the laid bainite rail from the actual value, based on pre-acquired correspondence between the hardness of the head top face of the bainite rail and the thickness of the white layer of the bainite rail.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
