PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a sidewall capable of improving fuel economy, flex crack growth resistance, and fracture strength in a well-balanced manner, and to provide a pneumatic tire having a sidewall using the same.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the rubber composition for a sidewall, which contains 5-150 pts.mass of silica based on 100 pts.mass of a rubber component. In 100 mass% of the rubber component, 50-70 mass% of BR and 30-50 mass% of NR are contained. A phase (I) containing BR forms a continuous phase (excluding a layered phase structure) independently of a phase (II) containing NR. The amount of silica contained in the phase (I) and the amount of silica contained in the phase (II) are within given ranges.SELECTED DRAWING: None

    【課題】低燃費性、耐屈曲亀裂成長性及び耐破壊強度をバランス良く改善できるサイドウォール用ゴム組成物、及びこれを用いたサイドウォールを有する空気入りタイヤを提供する。【解決手段】ゴム成分100質量部に対してシリカを5〜150質量部含有し、ゴム成分100質量%中、BRが50〜70質量%、NRが30〜50質量%であり、BRを含む相(I)がNRを含む相(II)と独立して連続相(層状相構造を除く)を形成し、相(I)に含まれるシリカの量及び相(II)に含まれるシリカの量が一定の範囲内であるサイドウォール用ゴム組成物に関する。【選択図】なし
