PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting circuit capable of switching a light source at high speed.SOLUTION: A lighting circuit 200 controls turning on/off of a light source 102. A drive circuit 202 generates a drive current Ito be supplied to the light source 102. The clamp circuit 210 clamps a voltage across the light source 102 to a clamp level during a period in which the light source 102 is to be turned off. The clamp level is defined to be greater than zero and lower than a threshold voltage of turning on/off of the light source 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
