PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visually-challenged person support system that allows a visually-challenged person to pass/traverse a road safely.SOLUTION: A visually-challenged person support system 10 performs visible light communication between a traffic light 12 and a visually-challenged person's transceiver 14. The traffic light 12 includes: a plurality of light-emitting elements 16, a driving unit for causing the light-emitting elements 16 to emit light as a signal of visible light communication; a control unit 20 for switching the light-emitting elements 16 to emit light; a light-receiving element 22 for receiving the signal of visible light communication; and a demodulation unit 24 for demodulating the signal of visible light communication received by the light-receiving element 22. The visually-challenged person's transceiver 14 includes: a light-emitting element 34; a driving unit 36 for causing the light-emitting element 34 to emit light; a light-receiving element 38; a demodulation unit 40 for demodulating a signal of visible light communication received by the light-receiving element 38; a control unit 42 for switching between light emission and light reception; and an output unit 44 for outputting the state of signal display.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
