PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator that is able to hinder decrease in heat exchange performance despite a configuration that is able to maintain a solidifying state of a cool storage material for a long time.SOLUTION: An evaporator 10 comprises: a heat exchange core unit 20, which is a portion in which a plurality of tubes 300 in which a refrigerant flows and a plurality of fins 400 are stacked; a first tank 100 to which one end of each of the tubes 300 is connected; a second tank 200 to which the other end of each of the tubes 300 is connected; and a holding layer 12 formed so as to cover at least respective parts of the heat exchange core unit 20, first tank 100, and second tank 200. In the holding layer 12, a plurality of cool storage capsules 13, each of which accommodates a cool storage material PF2 therein, are held.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
