PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rating-capacity limiting device (RCL) that can be applied in a crane control system for a crane having an asymmetrical outrigger alignment.SOLUTION: In a rating-capacity limiting device (RCL), a method for controlling a crane boom comprises: a step of storing, in a memory, data indicating the maximum horizontal work distance for a load applied to a boom hook; a step of storing, in a memory, boom data indicating the position of the boom; a step of calculating the minimum vector between the position of the hook and the maximum horizontal work distance; a step of controlling movement of the boom by a computing device in order to prevent the vector from reaching an absolute value of zero.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
