PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve low heat-generating properties while suppressing deterioration of tear resistance.SOLUTION: A method for producing a tire sidewall rubber member according to an embodiment comprises: a first kneading step for producing a first kneaded product by kneading a diene-based rubber, carbon black, a compound represented by formula (I) in the figure (where Rand Reach represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an alkynyl group, and Mis Na, Kor Li), and zinc oxide; and a second kneading step for adding a wax and/or stearic acid to the first kneaded product and kneading the mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: None
