PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of improving layout property at the shock absorber in which a hydraulic pressure force acts in its shrinking direction.SOLUTION: This invention comprises a piston 65 where a communication passage for communicating two oil chambers; a first rod 61 extending in one axial direction in respect to the piston 65; a first rod guide 70 arranged at a cylinder 64 and through which a first rod 61 passes; a second rod 62 extending in the other axial direction in respect to the piston 65 and having a larger diameter than that of the first rod 61; a second rod guide 75 through which the second rod 62 passes; a pressurizing mechanism 100 for pressurizing oil filled in the cylinder 64; a rod fixing member 81 arranged at the first rod 61; a cylinder fixing member 95; and a spring 52 extended or shrunk in response to a relative motion between the rod fixing member 81 and a cylinder fixing member 95, the cylinder fixing member 95 is arranged to be offset in respect to an axis line of the cylinder 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
