PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for coating a steel cord excellent in cord adhesiveness, driving stability and elongation at break.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for coating a steel cord is provided, containing 0.12 pts.mass or more of bis(benzoic acid)zinc and/or bis(t-butyl benzoic acid)zinc, 0.03 to 0.30 pts.mass of a cobalt aliphatic acid salt in terms of cobalt element, and less than 0.5 pts.mass of aliphatic acid having 16 to 22 carbon atoms and aliphatic acid derived from the cobalt aliphatic acid salt and having 16 to 22 carbon atoms in total, based on 100 pts.mass of a rubber component. A tire is also provide, having a breaker and/or carcass obtained by use of the rubber composition for coating a steel cord.SELECTED DRAWING: None

    【課題】コード接着性、操縦安定性および破断時伸びに優れたスチールコード被覆用ゴム組成物を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】ゴム成分100質量部に対し、ビス(安息香酸)亜鉛および/またはビス(t−ブチル安息香酸)亜鉛を0.12質量部以上、脂肪酸コバルト塩をコバルト元素に換算して0.03〜0.30質量部、炭素数16〜22の脂肪酸および脂肪酸コバルト塩に由来する炭素数16〜22の脂肪酸を合計で0.5質量部未満含有するスチールコード被覆用ゴム組成物、ならびに当該スチールコード被覆用ゴム組成物を用いて得られたブレーカーおよび/またはカーカスを有するタイヤ。【選択図】なし
