PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cost increase of a vibration control system which is relatively high-priced when a servo motor is used for vibration control, and to prevent an increase of energy consumption which occurs when a control system is always in an operation state.SOLUTION: An elevator is provided with a vibration control device that includes: an acceleration meter for detecting the vibration acceleration of an elevator car; a controller that determines the control amount of a motor on the basis of the vibration acceleration when the vibration acceleration exceeds a predetermined threshold value, and determines the rotational direction of the motor on the basis of the direction of the car acceleration when the vibration acceleration exceeds the threshold value; and the motor that is driven in response to a control command including the control amount and the motor rotational direction output from the controller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
