PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing reaction force applied to a pedestrian at the time of collision and thus reducing an obstruction value.SOLUTION: An intake system 10 for an internal combustion engine includes: an intake control valve 12 that is located upstream of an intake duct 14 for taking in outside air to the internal combustion engine of a vehicle 1 and can open/close an outside air intake port; collision detection means 15 capable of detecting collision of the vehicle 1 or unavoidable danger of the collision; and a control section 16 for closing the intake control valve when the collision detection means detects the collision with an impact buffer member or unavoidable danger of the collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
