PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device which enables rotation of a motor to be continued even when a drive unit fails and an unmanned airplane comprising the failure detection device.SOLUTION: A failure detection device 20 comprises: a first switching unit 23 configured to be capable of selectively switching an input destination of a control signal from a flight controller 12 between a main ESC 21 for driving a motor 2 on the basis of the control signal from the flight controller 12 and a sub ESC 22 for driving the motor 2 on the basis of the control signal from the flight controller 12; a detection unit 251 configured to be capable of detecting abnormality of the main ESC 21; and an instruction unit for transmitting a first switching signal to the first switching unit 23 when the detection unit detects abnormality of the main ESC 21. The first switching unit 23, when receiving the first switching signal from the instruction unit, switches the input destination of the control signal from the main ESC 21 to the sub ESC 22 to make the sub ESC 22 drive the motor 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】駆動部が故障してもモータの回転を継続させることができる故障検知装置及びこの故障検知装置を備える無人飛行機を提供する。【解決手段】故障検知装置20は、フライトコントローラ12からの制御信号に基づいてモータ2を駆動する主ESC21と、フライトコントローラ12からの制御信号に基づいてモータ2を駆動する副ESC22との間で、フライトコントローラ12からの制御信号の入力先を選択的に切り替え可能に構成された第一切替部23と、主ESC21の異常を検知可能に構成された検知部251と、検知部が主ESC21の異常を検知したときに第一切替部23に第一切替信号を送信する指示部とを備え、第一切替部23は、指示部から第一切替信号を受信したとき、制御信号の入力先を主ESC21から副ESC22に切り替えることにより、副ESC22によりモータ2を駆動させる。【選択図】図2
