PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear operation mechanism 100 capable of surely operating a gear.SOLUTION: A gear operation mechanism has a power source 110, an operation shaft 120 driven by the power source 110 and supported movably in a rotating direction and an axial direction, members to be operated 131-135 corresponded to fork portions 141-145, an engagement piece for operation 121 attached to the operation shaft 120 and moving the members to be operated 131-135 between a reference position and an engagement position, engagement pieces for release 122-125 attached to the operation shaft 120 and returning the members to be operated 131-135 from the engagement position to the reference position, and a control portion 105 for controlling a motion of the operation shaft 120. The control portion 105 has a first release mode using the engagement pieces for release 122-125, and a second release mode using the engagement piece 121 for operation, when the members to be operated 131-135 are returned from the engagement position to the reference position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
