PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular direction indicator such that breaking of the vehicle direction indicator using light emitting diodes can be detected with simple constitution.SOLUTION: A vehicular direction indicator comprises a light emission unit 2 having an electric bulb 3 and light emitting diodes 4 connected in series. Even if any of the electric bulb 3 and light emitting diodes 4 has a disconnection, a disconnection detecting circuit for the electric bulb 3 can detect the disconnection, and a disconnection detecting circuit for the light emitting diodes 4 needs not be provided. By using a difference in response between the electric bulb 3 and light emitting diodes 4, a lighting pattern which, for example, flows outward from the center of the vehicle depending upon an arrangement configuration of the electric bulb 3 and light emitting diodes 4 can be artificially actualized to have high designability.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】発光ダイオードを用いた車両用方向指示灯の断線を簡易な構成で検出できる車両用方向指示灯を提供する。【解決手段】電球3と発光ダイオード4とが直列接続された発光ユニット2を備える。電球3と発光ダイオード4のいずれが断線しても、電球3用の断線検出回路で断線検出が可能であり、発光ダイオード4用の断線検出回路を設ける必要がない。また、電球3と発光ダイオード4の応答性の違いを利用することで、電球3と発光ダイオード4の配置形態によっては車両中央側から外方に向かって流れるような点灯パターンを擬似的に実現でき、意匠性に優れる。【選択図】図1
