PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable appropriate landing operation on the nearest floor during a power failure even though a battery for an elevator power failure deteriorates.SOLUTION: In a system including a plurality of elevator cars and a battery for a power failure in each of the elevator cars, a battery capacity to be required for landing operation on the nearest floor during a power failure of an elevator car is calculated from a car position and load information when the power failure is detected. Then, the battery of each elevator car is switched to a driving power supply of the elevator car with a battery connected thereto, wherein deterioration or charging capacity shortage is detected by a command generated on the basis of the calculated result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
