PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified conjugated diene polymer that has excellent workability when turned into a vulcanizate; offers a particularly good balance between low hysteresis loss and wet skid resistance as a vulcanizate; has excellent wear resistance; and shows practically sufficient fracture characteristics.SOLUTION: A modified conjugated diene polymer of a specific structure has a weight average molecular weight of 20×10or more and 300×10or less; has a star-shaped branched structure with 5 or more branches in which conjugated diene polymer chains are bound to a modifier residue; and has at least a nitrogen atom and a silicon atom in the modifier residue, with each conjugated diene polymer chain bound to the silicon atom, and the silicon atom bound to at least one alkoxy group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
