PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking controller of a vehicle, which can reduce possibility that a following vehicle needs to brake suddenly, even when a brake pedal is operated by a driver in an abnormal condition.SOLUTION: The braking controller of a vehicle comprises: abnormality determining means (10, 11, 12, 15) for determining whether a driver of the vehicle is in an abnormal condition where the driver has lost the ability to drive the vehicle; separation distance obtaining means (10, 17) for obtaining a separation distance (Dfv) between the vehicle and a following vehicle behind the same; and deceleration limiting means (10, 20, 21, 22). When the abnormality determining means determines that the driver is in the abnormal condition, the deceleration limiting means performs at least one of: control to limit deceleration, for controlling a braking device of the vehicle, limiting the magnitude of the deceleration of the vehicle to equal to or under a first limit value (|Gijo|), so that the shorter the separation distance is, the less the first limit value is; and control to limit a rate of deceleration change, for controlling the braking device of the vehicle, limiting the magnitude of the time rate of the deceleration change to equal to or under a second limit value (|ΔGa|), so that the shorter the separation distance (Dfv) is, the less the second limit value is.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
