PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure of a vehicle which has excellent collision safety performance and a manufacturing method of the vehicle body.SOLUTION: A vehicle body structure of a vehicle includes: a division panel 13 which divides a front chamber or a rear chamber of a vehicle body from a passenger compartment 3; and side panel sections 17 and 174 which are joined to the division panel in side sections of the vehicle body. The side panel sections have outer flange sections 32 and 324 extending in a vertical direction of the vehicle body. The division panel has an inner flange section 31 extending in the vertical direction. The side panel sections have extension sections 382, 383 and 384 extending to the vehicle width direction inside, inside side panels 332 and 333 at the vehicle width direction inside, and outside side panels 341 and 343 at the vehicle width direction outside. The outer flange sections are formed at the inside end sections of the extension sections. Joint sections 37 and 374 are provided to join the inner flange section and the outer flange sections. The joint section is located at the vehicle width direction inside of an inside surface of a wheel. The vicinities of the extension sections of the inside side panels and the outside side panels extend to be separated from each other toward the front of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
