PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel position detector that is able to distinguish between a drive wheel and a non-drive wheel by a simpler system-configuration.SOLUTION: A drive wheel and a non-drive wheel are distinguished on the basis of temperature in a tire after the vehicle 1 starts running or on the basis of change of it. Thus, the drive wheel and the non-drive wheel can be distinguished on the basis of only information stored in a frame transmitted from a sensor transmitter 2 alone. This eliminates the need to acquire information from ABS and the need to provide a triggering machine as well. 【課題】簡素なシステム構成によって、駆動輪と非駆動輪とを特定することができる車輪位置検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両1が走行してからのタイヤ内の温度もしくはその変化に基づいて、駆動輪と非駆動輪の判別を行う。これにより、単にセンサ送信機2から送信されてくるフレームに格納された情報のみに基づいて駆動輪と非駆動輪を判別することができるため、ABSから情報を取得する必要もないし、トリガ機を備える必要もない。よって、より簡素なシステム構成によって、駆動輪と非駆動輪とを特定することが可能となる。【選択図】図1
