PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a lifting magnet, which can prevent deterioration of a magnet and an increase in load on a power source.SOLUTION: A controller composing a control device is configured in such a manner that when at least one of the value of a detected magnet output current and a magnet load defined by the formula (1) below is equal to or larger than a threshold predetermined for each, a command to decrease, from the next attracting operation, a voltage to be applied to the magnet is given to a control circuit. The formula (1) is as follows: magnet load=excitation ratio×I×V, in which the magnet ratio is excitation time/(excitation time+non-excitation time), and I indicates the value of the output current and V indicates voltage applied to the lifting magnet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
