PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed detection device capable of improving the reliability of the device while preventing dropout or getting damaged of the device due to external force.SOLUTION: A vehicle speed detection device 8 includes a magnet holding member 32 which is locked and fixed to a retainer plate 33 nipping a flange part 17c of a hub 17 of a front wheel 4. The magnet holding member 32 and the retainer plate 33 are covered by a protective covering 50 which includes a magnetic detection part 40 attached to the inner face thereof, and the protective covering 50 is attached to an axle 18. A cover fixing hole 14 of a fork hook 13 of a vehicle body 2 is locked to the cover fixing hook 50d of the protective covering 50, and the protective covering 50 is connected to a front hawk 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
