PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly select an engagement pattern among plural kinds of EV dual drive modes that have different engagement patterns in a hybrid vehicle capable of coupling an engine with MG1.SOLUTION: In a travel mode changeover control device of a hybrid vehicle, when a first changeover determination is performed in which a travel mode is switched from the EV single drive mode to the dual drive mode, execution of a second changeover determination is predicted (S3) in which the travel mode is switched to the HV travel mode where an engine needs to start. When the second changeover determination is predicted, S4 and later on are executed so as to be switched to the dual drive (Ne free) mode of a first engagement pattern where the engine is dragged to rotate. Because the engine is dragged to rotate according to vehicle speed, the engine can rapidly start when switched to the HV travel mode. Changeover time to the HV travel mode is shortened to obtain excellent drive force responsiveness in comparison with the dual drive (Ne=0) mode of a second engagement pattern where the rotation stop of the engine occurs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14

    【課題】エンジンとMG1とを連結可能としたハイブリッド車両において、係合パターンが異なる複数種類のEV両駆動モードの中から適切な係合パターンが選択されるようにする。【解決手段】EV単駆動モードから両駆動モードへ切り換える第1切換判断が行われた場合に、更にエンジンを始動する必要があるHV走行モードへ切り換える第2切換判断が行われるか否かを予測し(S3)、第2切換判断が予測された場合はS4以下を実行することにより、エンジンが連れ廻り回転させられる第1係合パターンの両駆動(Neフリー)モードへ切り換える。車速に応じてエンジンが連れ廻り回転させられるため、HV走行モードへ移行する際にエンジンを速やかに始動することが可能であり、エンジンが回転停止させられる第2係合パターンの両駆動(Ne=0)モードに比較して、HV走行モードへの切換時間が短縮されて優れた駆動力応答性能が得られる。【選択図】図14
