PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bistable boom capable of inhibiting cleft generated in a side edge of a boom body and smoothly processing transition of a winding state and an extension state.SOLUTION: In a bistable boom having a bistable boom body 10 constituted by a long sized resin-made sheet material having elasticity, having a state curved with an open cross section shape in a direction orthogonal to a longer direction and a state curved with a winding shape wound cylindrically in a longer direction, and stably held at a state of either an extension state extending in the longer direction or a winding state at an initial state, a side edge part extending along the longer direction of the boom body 10 is coated with a reinforcement material 30 having a soft resin having rubber-like elasticity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ブーム本体の側縁に生じる裂け目を防止し、かつ巻き取り状態と伸展状態との移行を円滑に進行させることができる双安定性ブームを提供する。【解決手段】弾性を有する長尺の樹脂製板材によって構成され、長手方向と直交する方向には開断面形状に曲付けされた形態で、一方で、長手方向には円筒状に巻き取られた巻き取り取り形態に曲付けされた形態で、初期状態では、長手方向に延びる伸展形態と巻き取り形態のいずれかの形態で安定して保持される双安定性のブーム本体10を備えた双安定性ブームにおいて、ブーム本体10の長手方向に沿って延びる側縁部に、ゴム状弾性を有する軟質樹脂を備えた補強材30で被覆したことを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
