PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that can supply power to an inverter circuit from other than an auxiliary battery, without using a backup power source.SOLUTION: A PCU 10 comprises a boosting converter circuit 12 that boosts power of a main battery 3; an inverter circuit 13 that converts output of the boosting converter circuit 12 into alternating current and outputs it to a motor for running; a capacitor 7 connected to high-voltage wiring 11 connecting the boosting converter circuit 12 and the inverter circuit 13; a DCDC converter 14; and a PCU controller 16. In the event that collision of the vehicle is detected, the DCDC converter 14 supplies the PCU controller 16 with power stored in the capacitor 7 and drives the inverter circuit 13; and, through the inverter circuit 13, the DCDC converter supplies the motor 44 with power stored in the capacitor 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
