PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of radio wave interference.SOLUTION: A communication system includes an on-vehicle terminal, a pedestrian terminal carried by a pedestrian, a roadside device communicable with the on-vehicle terminal and pedestrian terminal, and an assignment unit, where the on-vehicle terminal and pedestrian terminal can transmit data by broadcast in first and second transmission periods, respectively, the roadside device calculates the number of on-vehicle terminals and the number of pedestrian terminals, on the basis of one or multiple data received in an observation period, the assignment unit assigns the first transmission period from a predetermined communication period and a second transmission period, not overlapping the first transmission period, respectively, to the on-vehicle terminals and pedestrian terminals, on the basis of each number of terminals, and the roadside device notifies the on-vehicle terminals and pedestrian terminals of the first and second transmission periods, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
