PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple lock mechanism high in operational reliability, a gripping device equipped with the lock mechanism, and a lock and unlock method of the lock mechanism.SOLUTION: A lock mechanism 10 includes a pendulum member 20 swingably supported by a first member 50 in a vertical plane, in which a lock piece 21 is provided protrusively in the lower end, a second member 60 arranged below the first member, which can approach and separate from the first member, a regulation member 30 disposed to the second member in a transfer path surface of the lock piece, and a guide member 40 for guiding the pendulum member. The regulation member includes a lock groove 31 having an opening part downward, a first guide face inclined obliquely upward from one opening edge or a first opening edge 35 of the opening part in the transfer path surface, and a second guide face 33 inclined obliquely downward from the apex of the first guide face through the upper part of the lock groove, and extending to the other opening edge or a second opening edge 36 of the opening part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
