PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a secondary battery by interrupting current while preventing operation of a significant load from becoming unstable.SOLUTION: A power management system 10 disclosed in the specification comprises: a secondary battery 21; a vehicle power generator 50 connected to the secondary battery 21; a vehicle load 60 connected to the secondary battery 21 and the vehicle power generator 50; an electronic control unit 70 for controlling power supply from the vehicle power generator 50 to the vehicle load 60; a battery monitoring section 34 for detecting an abnormal state of the secondary battery 21; a current interruption section 25 for interrupting current between the secondary battery 21 and the vehicle load 60; and a central processing unit 31 in a battery unit 20 for giving the electronic control unit 70 prior notice before the current interruption section 25 interrupts current after an abnormal state is detected by the battery monitoring section 30. The electronic control unit 70, on the basis of the prior notice, controls power supply from the vehicle power generator 50 to the vehicle load 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
