PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber capable of shortening a length of an upper part of a vehicle body side tube.SOLUTION: Telescopic type vehicle body side tube and wheel side tube respectively are arranged on a vehicle body side and a wheel side. In telescopic motion that a rod enters or leaves from a cylinder, at an upper part of the vehicle body side tube, a control valve is provided which is configured to impart flow passage resistance to hydraulic oil flowing out from an upper end opening of a passage to a reservoir. The control valve includes a valve body configured to press a valve seat to open/close the same, and is arranged obliquely above the cylinder, thereby capable of shortening a length of the upper part of the vehicle body tube.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車体側チューブの上部の長さを短縮できる油圧緩衝器を提供すること。【解決手段】車体側および車輪側にテレスコピック型の車体側チューブ及び車輪側チューブがそれぞれ配置される。シリンダに対してロッドが出入する伸縮作動時に、通路の上端開口からリザーバへ流出する作動油に流路抵抗を付与する制御弁が、車体側チューブの上部に設けられる。制御弁は、弁座を押圧し開閉する弁体を備え、シリンダの上方に斜めに配置されるので、車体側チューブの上部の長さを短縮できる。【選択図】図1
