PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a function for maintaining a vehicle stop state on a slope, in a parking mechanism 1 for regulating the rotation of a parking gear by making a parking pole 12 geared with the parking gear 11 which rotates in conjunction with drive wheels of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An actuator 13 of a parking mechanism 1 is operated according to a prescribed parking operation, and a parking pole 12 is driven to a lock position (engagement position) via a rod 15 and a cam 17 (step S4: first drive control means). When "slide-down" that a stopped vehicle moves to either of fore-and-aft directions due to a gradient of a road face is determined (step S5: determination means), the actuator 13 is operated once again, and the parking pole 12 is driven to the lock position (step S6: second drive control means).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
