PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit a temperature decrease of the entire exhaust manifold 31 and to inhibit excessive heat generation of part of the exhaust manifold 31 during high speed running.SOLUTION: An engine is configured so as to be switchable between all-cylinder operation in which all four cylinders are actuated and reduced-cylinder operation in which two of the four cylinders are rendered inactive and the remaining two cylinders are actuated. The exhaust manifold 31 includes: an inactive- cylinder-side exhaust branch pipe part communicating with an inactive cylinder (first and fourth cylinders) that are cylinders rendered inactive during the reduced-cylinder operation; and an actuated-cylinder-side exhaust branch pipe part communicating with actuated cylinders (second and third cylinders) that are two cylinders actuated during the reduced-cylinder operation. A portion of a heat insulator 27, opposite the actuated-cylinder-side exhaust branch pipe part, has an opening 28 for taking vehicle traveling wind into the heat insulator 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
