PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surely detecting disconnection of a member which is embedded inside, such as a cord of a vehicle tire, with a simple device.SOLUTION: A damage detection method of the invention comprises: a step for applying a load to a linear material which is a detection object via a substrate, and generating displacement on the linear material; and a step for detecting an elastic wave produced due to contact of a damaged part of the linear material due to the displacement. Consequently, damage of the substrate and the linear material which is embedded in the substrate can be detected by detection intensity of the elastic wave. A damage detection device of the invention comprises load application means for applying a load to the linear material via the substrate and generating displacement on the linear material, and a sensor for detecting the elastic wave produced due to contact of the damaged part of the linear material due to the displacement via the load application means, so that a detection device single unit can detect a damage of a detection object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両タイヤのコードのように、内部に埋設されている部材の断線を、簡便な装置によって確実に検知する方法を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の損傷検知方法は、基材を介して、検知対象である線状材に荷重を加えることで、線状材に変位を生じさせるステップと、この変位によって線状材の損傷部分の接触により生じた弾性波を検知するステップを備えるので、基材と基材の中に埋め込まれている線状材が損傷したことを、弾性波の検知強度によって検知することができる。本発明の損傷検知装置によれば、基材を介して線状材に荷重を加えることで線状材に変位を生じさせる荷重付加手段と、この変位によって線状材の損傷部分の接触により生じた弾性波を、荷重付加手段を介して検知するセンサを備えるので、検知装置単体で検知対象物の損傷を検知することができる。【選択図】図1
